Job Description:Street Crimes Deputies will investigate complaints from citizens about illegal activity and conduct street level interdiction focused on gang and narcotic activities. They will investigate and follow up on information gathered from the Detention Center to help prosecute and prevent criminal activities. Street Crimes Deputies will serve on the Lubbock Gang Task Force (TAG). EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One year of experience as a peace officer in patrol or equivalent street experience; any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, or one year experience in the LCDC Gang Intelligence Unit. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee may be occasionally called upon to perform acts of intense physical exertion during emergency situations. Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to complete a one mile run in under 12:30 minutes, complete 20 push-ups in one minute, and 20 sit-ups in one minute unless already assigned in Law Enforcement of the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office.
