Job Name:Electronic Systems Technician
Job Description:Knowledge and ability to supervise, maintain, and repair various systems cabling, including, but not limited to, video, access control, panic alarms, fire alarm, voice network, data network, and energy management network including installing, maintaining, and renovating systems cabling infrastructure in County facilities. Install and program non-data Network LAN equipment. Requires knowledge of various Microsoft operating systems, installation and configuration of Cisco, Nortel, McAfee, Symantec, and related program software. Responsible for County wide facilities access both electronically and mechanically (i.e. commercial and institutional locks, hardware, etc.). Supervise Maintenance technicians, vendors, and contractors to perform assigned tasks as required. High school graduate or equivalent, trade school or vocational school, or work toward an associate degree in electronics, computer technology, HVAC, or construction trades, plus 4-6 years of related industry experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties listed above. Minimum 1 years’ experience in LAN/WAN topologies. Strong work ethics, troubleshooting skills, ability to follow outlined procedures, knowledge of Windows, strong verbal and written communications skills, and able to plan and work independently. Possess valid Texas Driver License. Pass extensive background check, drug screening, and physical.
